Coaching Tip: “Third Shot Drop”
Here’s a tip to improve your consistency with your third shot:
• After the return, focus on using a soft, controlled drop shot into the kitchen.
• Aim low over the net (just over), use a short backswing, and follow through gently.
• Practice this in drills: one partner feeds low returns, the other practices 30 drop shots.
• Why it helps: sets up your transition to the net; reduces opponent attacking opportunities.
Stay Fit and Injury-Free with Spring Physiotherapy!
This Week’s Tip: Building Forearm Endurance for Pickleball Players
Tired arms mid-match? Build forearm stamina with these:
Wrist Roller: Use a dowel or broom handle with a string and light weight. Roll the string up and down using only your wrists. Do 2 full rolls in each direction.
Towel Twists: Hold a rolled-up towel and twist it in opposite directions with each hand. Alternate directions for 1 minute.
Sore from Atlantic Pickleball Championships? Don’t let muscle soreness be the lasting memory of the tournament. A massage can help you recover faster, loosen up tight spots, and leave you feeling ready for the rest of your day. Treat yourself — you earned it!
