As Cross Court continues to grow, one thing we always want to keep at the center is community.
Pickleball is one of the most social sports there is. It brings together players of different ages, skill levels, and backgrounds in a way very few sports can. That sense of connection is something we work hard to protect.
It’s also why we’ve always tried to keep our programming and pricing structured in a way that keeps pickleball accessible to as many people as possible. Our goal is to create an environment where players can participate regularly, improve their game, and feel like they’re part of something bigger than just a single match.
The strength of Cross Court has always been the people who walk through the doors each week. The encouragement between games, the friendships that form on the courts, and the respect players show each other are what make this community special.
Thank you for continuing to help build that environment every time you play.
Community on the Courts
One of the best parts of running leagues and drop-ins is watching players improve week by week.
Players who started the season unsure of positioning are now communicating with partners, anticipating shots, and playing with much more confidence. Others are challenging themselves in higher level games and discovering just how much strategy goes into pickleball.
Improvement in pickleball rarely comes from one big breakthrough. It usually comes from small adjustments:
• Better shot selection
• More consistent serves and returns
• Smarter court positioning
• Stronger communication with partners
Those small improvements add up quickly when players are getting regular reps.
League Play Continues
League sessions across both facilities are now well into their rhythm.
One thing we consistently see is how much stronger the games become after a few weeks. Players begin recognizing each other’s playing styles, partnerships become more coordinated, and matches become more competitive.
That structure is what makes leagues so valuable.
Playing the same time every week allows players to:
• Develop better match awareness
• Build consistency under pressure
• Learn how to adapt to different opponents
• Gain confidence in competitive situations
For many players, leagues are where the biggest improvements happen.

League Sub Guidelines
A reminder as leagues continue:
• Subs must match the level of the league
• If the league is DUPR rated, the sub must be aware before playing
• League spots cannot be transferred between different levels
These guidelines help ensure leagues remain fair and balanced for everyone involved.
Thank you to all players who help keep leagues organized and running smoothly.

Drop-ins are one of the best ways to stay active and continue improving outside of league play.

Game Format Reminder
Just a quick reminder that all games at Cross Court both leagues and drop-ins are first to 11 points.
This format helps keep games moving, allows more players to rotate through the courts, and ensures everyone gets plenty of opportunities to play throughout the session.
Thank you for helping keep games running smoothly and respecting the format so everyone gets the most out of their time on the courts.
A Final Thought
Pickleball has grown incredibly fast, but the thing that keeps people coming back isn’t just the game.
It’s the people on the court.
The encouragement after a great rally.
The laughs between games.
The friendships that start across the net.
At Cross Court we want every player, whether brand new or highly competitive, to feel welcome stepping onto the court.
Play hard.
Encourage each other.
Respect the game.
Choose kindness. Every time.

What’s interesting is how maintaining that inclusivity becomes harder as participation grows and competition intensifies. When references like Vegas Now appear in related discussions, it shows how external https://www.vegasnow.com/en-CA narratives can influence priorities, sometimes shifting focus away from the social fabric that made it appealing.
