Cross Court Newsletter: June 16

💙 CC Community

We continue to be blown away by the amazing community that’s grown at Cross Court. From our newest players to longtime regulars, you’ve helped make this dream a reality.

A huge thank you to our incredible Court Ambassadors:

Bedford – Val, Dave, Sue, Cara

Dartmouth – Ali, Bob, Jackie, Krystle

And to Francois, our dedicated Dartmouth Facility Manager.

Your support, energy, and leadership mean the world to us. Thank you for all that you do to help make Cross Court such a welcoming and fun place to play.

Team Tournament – In Support of Dartmouth General Hospital

Our MiLP-Style Team Tournament is happening soon!Teams of 4 players (2 male + 2 female). Each player must register individually. Once registered, we’ll place your team in the right division.

➡️ We’ll begin organizing divisions at the end of the month based on registration numbers. If your full team hasn’t signed up yet—make sure they do!

Leagues Open for Registration

Bedford

Dartmouth

  • Mixed Team League (3.0–3.5) Mondays, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

  • Women’s Team League (3.0–3.5) Tuesdays, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Women’s 3.0–3.5 Teams League Wednesdays, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Novice Level 2 (Any Gender) Fridays, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Reminder: Stick to Your DUPR Rating

We know it’s tempting to play up a level for the challenge—but when everyone does that, it throws off the balance across all divisions. To keep the game fun and fair for all players, please register for leagues and drop-ins based on your current DUPR rating.

➡️ If you feel your rating is too low, the best way to fix it is to join a league at your current DUPR level and win. As you win matches, your DUPR will adjust and reflect your true skill level. That way, you’ll level up and help keep divisions fair for everyone.

Thank you for helping us maintain competitive, enjoyable play at Cross Court!

Stay Fit and Injury-Free with Spring Physiotherapy!

This Week’s Tip: Reducing Elbow Pain for Pickleball Players

Overuse can lead to elbow discomfort. Strengthen your arms with these exercises:

Eccentric Wrist Drops: Hold a light weight in one hand, palm facing down. Slowly lower your wrist, then return to start. Repeat 10 times per hand.

Forearm Stretch: Extend one arm forward with palm up. Use the opposite hand to gently pull fingers downward. Hold for 20 seconds, then switch.

Take care of your elbows—and the rest of you, too. If you’ve been putting off that massage, now’s the time. At just $55 for a 60-minute session, this limited-time offer for CrossCourt members is Spring Physio’s way of saying thanks for being part of the CrossCourt crew!

Appointments are filling fast and the deal ends June 30, 2025—so book now.Call 902-453-1525 ext 2 or email admin@springphysio.ca and mention your CrossCourt Member Rate.

Have a fantastic week! Hopefully you get pickled at least once—and laugh about it. It builds character!
